The Youth Sewing Class is built for kids and teens who are ready to turn their creativity and love of style into a real skill. Over four weeks, students learn to safely operate a home sewing machine, create own pattern, and construct wearable garments from start to finish. Shanti teaches each technique with the same care and attention to detail she applies in her professional work—perfectly adapted for young makers who are excited to learn and build their sewing skills. No prior sewing experience is needed. Just a genuine interest in fashion and a willingness to work with your hands.

Threading and safely operating a home sewing machine
Measuring and cutting fabric based on the student's body
Constructing garments with clean seams and finished edges
Making basic fitting adjustments for a personalized fit
Fabric selection — pairing fabric weight and drape to the right garment

Elastic-waist skirt or PJ set
Crop top or fitted t-shirt
Lined tote bag
Materials note: All machines are provided. Students supply fabric for each project and a basic sewing kit. Upon enrollment, families receive a detailed materials list including recommended fabric types, estimated yardage per project, and a simple tools checklist. Everything on the list is available at most fabric or craft stores.

Registration & Payment
Course fees are non-refundable once the 4-week term begins. Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the start date are eligible for a full refund. A 2-payment plan ($210 × 2) is available — contact us before enrolling to arrange. No prerequisites — this course is designed for complete beginners. Students must be between the ages of 10 and 18 at the time of enrollment. If your teen is slightly outside this range and you
believe they are ready, contact us to discuss before registering.

Attendance
Each session introduces the next phase of a garment build — missing a week will directly affect your teen's ability to complete all three projects. We cannot offer makeup sessions for missed classes. If your teen misses a session, contact the instructor as soon as possible so they can receive brief guidance on what to review or prepare before the next class.

Materials & Equipment
All home sewing machines are provided by the studio. Students are responsible for supplying fabric for each project and a basic sewing kit — fabric scissors, a measuring tape, straight pins, and a seam ripper. A complete materials list is sent upon enrollment. Please bring all materials to each session so students can fully perticipate and make the most of their class time .
