Kids Creative Sewing: Fun with Fashion & Machines (Ages 8–12)
February 8, 2026 to March 8, 2026 | 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM | 5 Weeks | Sundays
Future designers start here.
Calling all young makers and aspiring designers! In this fun, hands-on workshop designed specifically for kids under 13, we take the mystery out of the sewing machine and replace it with pure creativity.
This course is the perfect safe introduction to sewing. We focus on building confidence, patience, and fine motor skills while making cool, functional projects they can actually wear and use. No prior experience is needed—we start from the very beginning!
What Your Child Will Learn:
-
Machine Safety 101: How to operate an industrial sewing machine safely and responsibly.
-
The Basics: Threading the machine, winding a bobbin, and sewing straight, even lines.
-
Fabric Fun: Understanding different fabrics and how to cut them.
-
Construction: How to pin, sew seams, and assemble 3D projects.
Projects Include:
-
The "Everything" Tote Bag: A sturdy, lined bag perfect for carrying library books or art supplies.
-
Custom Elastic-Waist Shorts or Skirt: Their very first garment! They will learn to measure themselves and sew a comfy piece of clothing to wear to school.
-
Creative "Scrap" Challenge: Making accessories (like scrunchies or zipper pouches) using leftover fabric scraps.
Materials: Machines and tools are provided in class. A simple supply list (including fabric for their projects) will be sent upon registration.
