Project-Based Private Sewing Lessons
Bring your design to life: Complete a dress, pants, or jacket with expert guidance.
Private Lessons
Have a dream garment in your head but don’t know how to construct it? The Project-Based Package at The Altered Thread is designed for goal-oriented students who want to walk away with a finished, high-quality wearable item.

Located in our Ditmas Park, Brooklyn studio, this intensive series focuses entirely on one specific garment. We strip away the general exercises and focus strictly on the techniques required to build your project, from pattern layout to the final hem.

10 Hours of Focused Construction
Garment construction requires time and focus. That is why this package is structured as five 2-hour sessions. The extended lesson time ensures we have ample room to tackle complex steps—like setting sleeves, installing fly-front zippers, or perfecting a fit—without feeling rushed.

Choose your project focus:
-
The Perfect Dress: Master bodice fitting, zipper insertion, and lining.
-
Tailored Pants: Conquer the fear of the crotch curve, waistband construction, and pockets.
-
Jackets & Outerwear: Learn about structure, interfacing, and heavy-duty fabric handling on our industrial machines.
