ABOUT THE COURSE
Stop following patterns. Start making your own.
This 8-week intensive is built for sewists who are ready to move beyond commercial patterns and start creating from scratch. Using your own body measurements as the starting point, you will draft a custom bodice sloper and a custom skirt sloper, then use those master patterns to construct a finished garment. What you leave with isn't just a dress — it's a set of reusable patterns fitted specifically to your body, and the drafting knowledge to build every garment you make from here on.

STUDENT POLICY
What you need to know before enrolling.
01
Registration & Payment
Course fees are non-refundable once the 8-week term begins. Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the start date are eligible for a full refund. A 2-payment plan ($420 × 2) is available — contact us before enrolling to arrange. Prerequisite: Sewing 102 or demonstrated equivalent experience in garment construction.
02
Attendance
Pattern making is a sequential, cumulative skill — each week's work builds directly on the prior session's draft. Missing a class will significantly impact your ability to complete the sloper and final garment. We cannot offer makeup sessions for missed classes. If you miss a week, contact the instructor immediately to discuss how to catch up before the next session.
03
Materials & Equipment
All industrial sewing machines are provided by the studio. Students are responsible for their own pattern drafting tools — including drafting paper, an L-square ruler, and a curved ruler — as well as muslin fabric for fitting mock-ups and fashion fabric for the final garment. A detailed tools list and recommended fabric quantities are provided upon registration.
04
Studio Safety
You will be working on professional-grade industrial equipment throughout the course. All students must follow the step-by-step safety guidance provided by the instructor at all times. A standard liability waiver is signed at the first session.
