Cancellation Policy

1. Appointments & Scheduling Booking: We strongly recommend scheduling a specific Pick-Up/Final Fitting appointment to ensure a fitting room is available and a team member is free to assist you. Hours: Pick-ups can be scheduled during our standard operating hours (Mon-Wed 10-5, Thu 10-4). Friday pick-ups are by appointment only. 2. The "Final Fit" Try-On Try Before You Go: We require (or strongly encourage) all clients to try on their altered garments one last time in the studio before taking them home. Satisfaction Confirmation: This final try-on is your opportunity to verify that the fit is perfect. By leaving the studio with your garment, you are confirming that you are satisfied with the work performed. Post-Pickup Issues: Any fit issues raised after the item has left our premises may be subject to new alteration fees. 3. Payment Final Balance: Any remaining balance on your invoice must be paid in full prior to or at the time of pick-up. Garments cannot be released until the account is settled. 4. Storage & Unclaimed Items 30-Day Window: Please pick up your items promptly! Due to limited storage space in our studio, completed orders must be picked up within 30 days of notification. Extended Storage Fee: Items left longer than 30 days may incur a $10/week storage fee. Abandonment: Items not claimed within 90 days of the completion date will be considered abandoned and may be donated to charity or discarded. The Altered Thread is not responsible for the replacement cost of abandoned items. 5. Design Changes Change of Mind: If you decide you want to change the design or fit after the work has been completed according to the original agreement (e.g., you asked for a 1-inch hem, but now want 2 inches), this will be treated as a new order and charged accordingly.
