Service Description
The Altered Thread studio is available for open sewing sessions by appointment. Whether you're working on a garment in progress, practicing a new technique, or need access to a professional industrial machine — our drop-in bookings give you dedicated, uninterrupted time in a focused, creative environment. All sessions are booked in advance and held at our studio at 1010 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn. 📌 BOOKING POLICY • Sessions must be booked in advance through our online booking system. • Payment is due at the time of booking — $35 per hour. • Students must bring their own materials, fabric, and project supplies. • A basic understanding of sewing machine operation is required. Drop-in sessions are unsupervised work time, not instruction. • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund. • Late cancellations (under 24 hours) and no-shows are non-refundable. • Sessions begin and end at their scheduled times. Late arrivals do not receive extended time. • One machine per booking.
Cancellation Policy
Private Lesson Policy: 1. Payment & Booking Upfront Payment: To secure the "Beginner's Bundle" rate of $320, full payment must be made prior to the first scheduled lesson. Non-Refundable: Once purchased, lesson packages are non-refundable. However, they may be transferred to a friend or family member with prior notice. 2. Cancellation & Rescheduling We value your time and ours. Because private lessons reserve a specific timeslot dedicated solely to you: 24-Hour Notice Required: You must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Late Cancellations/No-Shows: If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or fail to show up, that lesson credit will be forfeited and deducted from your 4-lesson package. How to Reschedule: Please contact us via email or text to adjust your appointment. 3. Arrival & Punctuality Lesson Duration: Each lesson is strictly 60 minutes. Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, your lesson will still end at the scheduled time to respect the clients booked after you. We cannot extend the session time for late arrivals. 4. Expiration Date Validity: To ensure you retain what you learn, consistency is key! All 4 lessons in the Beginner’s Bundle must be used within 90 days of the purchase date. Unused lessons after this period will expire. 5. Studio Safety & Guests Safety First: Students must follow all safety instructions regarding the industrial machines. A standard liability waiver must be signed before the first lesson. One-on-One Focus: Private lessons are designed for one student and one instructor. To maintain safety and focus, please do not bring guests, children, or pets to your session.
